Overview
A website letting a local hardware store show products online and take quote and delivery requests from contractors, building managers, schools, factories and public offices. The MVP covers a catalogue, quote requests, B2B and procurement pages, recurring delivery, repair inquiries and an admin console.
Challenge
Hardware has huge SKU counts and each customer type wants different information. Quotes came only by phone with no record, and there was nothing for customers like public offices that need a procurement process.
Solution
Separate entry pages per customer type (B2B, procurement, recurring delivery, repair) lead straight to the right information and request form. Products follow a category → item structure, quotes arrive via a three-step form into the admin inbox, and staff edit products, project cases and store details themselves.
Strategy
Split the audiences
Walk-in and B2B/procurement paths diverge on the first screen.
Catalogue structure
Category → item so staff add SKUs themselves as the range grows.
Quote form
Items, quantities and delivery terms in three steps, wired to the admin inbox and alerts.
Admin console
Products, cases, store details and inquiries handled on one screen.
